How To Get Rid of Facial Hair Naturally

Unlike hair on the other body parts, facial hair are quite visible, and can make or break your look. If you find it tedious to visit a salon every few weeks, here are some simple and effective home remedies to remove your facial hair naturally.

Facial hair Scrub

Make a scrub using 1tsp ground coffee, 1/2 tsp baking soda and little water make it into a paste and very gently exfoliate the skin in circular motion, keep it on for about 5 – 10 mins and rinse off, do it once a week.

Sugar and Lemon Juice

All you need to do is mix two tablespoons of sugar and lemon juice, along with 8-9 tablespoons of water. Heat this mixture until bubbles start to appear and then, let it cool.

Facial Hair Mask

After exfoliating the skin apply a mask using mix gram flour (besan), yogurt and pinch of turmeric to make a paste, apply it on the face for about 20 mins and rinse off with cold water.

Lemon and Honey

This is another method to replace waxing. Start with mixing two tablespoons of sugar and lemon juice, and one tablespoon of honey. Heat the mixture for about three minutes and add water to make the mixture thinner, if required.
Once the paste cools down, apply cornstarch on the affected areas and spread the paste in the direction of hair growth. Next, use a waxing strip or a cotton cloth, and pull the hair out in the opposite direction of growth.
Honey helps in moisturising the skin, and hence this method is highly reccomended if you have dry skin.

Spearmint Tea and Facial Hair

One of the main causes for the facial hair is overload of androgen hormones and Spearmint tea can help you control that. Spearmint tea to stop growth of unwanted hair in women and give pimple-free face with healthier skin. A cup of spearmint tea daily can help you get over the problem of facial hair naturally. However, care must be taken before consuming this tea if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.

Oatmeal and Banana

This method is quite handy. Blend two tablespoons of oatmeal with a ripe banana, and apply this paste on the affected areas. Massage it for 15 minutes, and wash it off with cool water.
Oatmeal makes a great, hydrating scrub and is loaded with antioxidants that helps to remove redness from your skin. Apart from removing your facial hair, this paste will also give you a glowing skin.

Potato and Lentil

Mix a tablespoon of honey, lemon juice each with five tablespoons of potato juice. Meanwhile, grind the lentils (soaked overnight) to a smooth paste. Add all the ingredients and apply the mixture for about 20 minutes on the affected area. Wash it off once it is completely dry.
This paste makes a thin crust that helps in hair rmoval. Plus, potato helps in bleaching the hair, making them less visible.

Egg White and Cornstarch

Mix a tablespoon each of cornstarch and sugar with egg white. Apply this mixture on the areas where you have unwanted hair and peel it off once it is dry. Quite simple, isn’t it?
Egg white is sticky, and forms a thin film on skin when combined with sugar and cornstarch. This method is not suitable for acne prone skin as egg white contains Vitamin A which may lead to breakouts.

Green gram + rose water


  • 2 tablespoons of green gram flour
  • 1-2 tablespoons of rose water
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice


  • Place green gram flour and rose water in a bowl and mix them well.
  • Add lemon juice to the paste and then mix the ingredients once again.


  • Apply the paste on the affected areas of your skin.
  • Let it sit there for about 20-25 minutes or until it’s completely dry.
  • Rub the mask off with your fingers.

Repeat: 3-4 times a week.

Make a papaya-turmeric paste to gradually remove hair over time

For a chemical-free hair removal paste, weaken the hair follicles. To make the paste, mash a raw papaya with 1/2 teaspoon (1 g) of turmeric powder. Apply the paste to the unwanted hair and let it sit for 15 minutes. Then rinse the paste off with warm water.

Make a turmeric and chickpea scrub for sensitive skin

For a gentle hair remover, mix equal amounts of chickpea flour with ground turmeric. Then mix in enough water to make a thick paste that you can spread on the unwanted facial hair. Leave it on your skin for 10 to 15 minutes and then rinse it off with warm water.

Wax the hair for longer lasting hair removal

For hair removal that lasts for 2 to 3 weeks, apply warm wax to the hair on your face. Firmly press a cloth on the wax and then pull it off to remove the unwanted hair.

Rub a pumice stone to gently buff away facial hair

Shower for 5 to 10 minutes so the hot water softens your skin and opens your pores. Soak a pumice stone in water while you shower. Then rub a facial moisturizer on your skin and rub the stone over your face using small, circular motions. Continue to gently scrub your face for 1 to 2 minutes before rinsing your face with water.

Dab lavender and tea tree oil over unwanted hair to stop hair growth

To slow down the growth of hair on your face, mix together 6 drops of tea tree oil with 1 teaspoon (4.9 ml) of lavender essential oil. Dip a cotton ball in the mixture and dab it onto the unwanted hair. Then let your skin dry. Do this once a day for 3 months to begin seeing results.

Shave with a single razor blade for quick hair removal

Splash your face with water and massage sensitive-skin shaving gel or cream on it. Take a single razor blade, such as a facial or eyebrow razor, and gently run it over your skin. Then rinse your face off with water and pat it dry just before you apply a moisturizing lotion.
