
How to make your own face mask
Fancy, store-bought face masks are fantastic, but a DIY face mask is quick and easy to make and you probably already have the nourishing natural ingredients lurking in your pantry!

Whether you have dry skin, oily acne-prone skin, or dull skin, these recipes will take your complexion from lacklustre to nextlevel.
Avocado face mask
Rich in antioxidants, monounsaturated fatty acids, and vitamins C and E, the avocado in this mask is excellent for firming, hydrating and softening skin.
You will need:
- 1 ripe avocado
- 1 cup corn starch
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Step 1: Mash a ripe avocado in a bowl.
Step 2: Add 1/4 cup corn starch, and 1 tbsp each of lemon juice and olive oil Mix together.
Step 3: Apply to your face, and leave for 15 to 20 minutes before rinsing off with water.
Egg white honey mask
Honey is a natural antiseptic, so this mask is brilliant for banishing blemish-causing bacteria.
You will need:
- 1 egg white
- 1 tsp honey
- Ground oats
Step 1: Whip together egg white and honey in a bowl until well combined and a bit frothy.
Step 2: Gradually add ground oats until a paste forms.
Step 3: Apply the paste your face avoiding the eyes and massage it gently into your skin.
Step 4: Leave the mask on for 10 minutes, then remove with warm water.
Yoghurt face mask
The yoghurt in this mask contains skin-brightening lactic acid, while the oatmeal will help to soothe and soften your complexion.
You will need:
- 1 tbsp plain natural yoghurt
- 1 tbsp milk or a little less, to create a paste
- 1 tbsp oatmeal
Step 1: Place the yoghurt, milk and oatmeal in a small bowl and mix well.
Step 2: Apply to your face and leave on for 10-15 minutes.
Step 3: Massage skin, then rinse mask off with water.
